A new responsibility of Rahul Gandhi from today he is now leader of Opposition Lok Sabha. The Congress Parliamentary Party appointed his name as a leader of Opposition Lok Sabha.
Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal said this on June 25. “CPP chairperson Sonia Gandhi wrote to Pro-tem Speaker informing the decision of appointment of Rahul Gandhi as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
The decision was taken by the Congress Working Committee and other INDIA bloc leaders
In 2024 Lok Sabha Election, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had won two Lok Sabha seats – Wayanad in Kerala and Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh with margins of over 3.5 lakh votes.
As Leader of Opposition, Gandhi will be able to directly challenge Prime Minister Modi and the BJP’s policies in Lok Sabha, lead key debates, and coordinate with other opposition parties.
