Manipur reached the final of the Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2024-25 Tier 1 when they defeated Delhi 1-0 at the Rural Development Trust ground on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Awaiting Manipur in the final are Jharkhand, who beat Tamil Nadu in the first semi-final on August 10, 2024. The final will be played on Tuesday.
After a barren first half, Longjam Nira Chanu scored the all-important goal in the 79th minute. She received a pass just inside the box and fired a shot that deflected off the post before entering the goal.
Overall, Manipur had more say in attacks and could have increased the tally. But Delhi goalkeeper Ribansi Jamu played a stellar role under the bar to make several good saves.
