Indian Army Spear Corps Celebrates National Sports Day with Thrilling Badminton Championship for School Students of Tuting

In a vibrant celebration of National Sports Day, the Indian Army’s Spear Corps organized an exhilarating Inter-School Badminton Championship for the 2024-25 academic year, aimed at fostering sportsmanship, teamwork and physical fitness among the youth of Vibrant Village Tuting, located in the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students aged 8 to 16 years, representing three prominent schools in Tuting: Government Town Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School, and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya. The championship, conducted on a league basis, highlighted the remarkable skills and competitive spirit of these young athletes.

After a series of intense matches, Government Higher Secondary School, Tuting, emerged as the champion clinching the Badminton Championship title. The prize distribution ceremony was a moment of pride and joy attended by esteemed Army Officers and the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Tuting, who presented trophies, medals and certificates to the winners.

This championship not only underscored the Indian Army’s dedication to promoting sports and physical activity but also reinforced its commitment to engaging with and uplifting the communities in border villages.
