DIRECTOR GENERAL ASSAM RIFLES FELICITATES SUCCESSFUL PARTICIPANTS OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

On 06 September 2024, Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, Director General Assam Rifles presided over the Felicitation ceremony of successful participants of Skill Development Program at Mantripukhri.

A total of 23 participants, who have secured employment for themselves in reputed hotels and retail chains, were felicitated during the event.

The Skill Development Program is being conducted jointly by the Assam Rifles and ‘We Care Skill Solution’ from 10 Jun 24. A total of 89 students which includes 44 Boys and 45 Girls are attending the program which is being conducted as part of an MoU that was signed between Assam Rifles and ‘We Care Skill Solution’ on 03 June 2024.

The program is being organized to empower youth on Hospitality and Retail Skill sets thereby opening up their avenues for honorable employment opportunities across the Nation.

The felicitated youth which include 11 Boys and 12 Girls have secured employment at Leela Ambience Convention in Delhi, Royal Orchid in Bhuj, Taj Vivanta in Tawang, ITC Windsor in Bangalore and Clarion Group in Kochi and will proceed to join these hotels by last week of September 2024. In addition, another 33 participants (16 Boys and 17 Girls) have been interviewed and are likely to be placed by the end of the course on 13 September 2024.

The Felicitation ceremony was also graced by Major General Ravroop Singh, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), Brig A Boral, VSM, Deputy inspector General, 9 Sector Assam Rifles, Mr Shreeman, Managing Director, We Care Skill Solution and faculty members who were instrumental in training the youth. In his address to the participants the DG Assam Rifles congratulated them for their hard work and dedication which assisted them in shaping their careers. He also complimented the IGAR (S) and “We Care Skill Solution” for their innovative and genuine concerns towards the youth of Manipur whose future prospects have been adversely affected due to prolonged insurgency and ethnic violence in the State. He exhorted upon the youth to be sincere and honest in their profession and wished them good luck for all their future endeavors.

The Skill Development Program is first of its kind in the State and has opened the doors of employment to almost 60 youths. The Assam Rifles has lived up to its motto of ‘Sentinels of the North East’ while the “We Care Skill Solution” have demonstrated their expertise as a premier hospitality training institute in Manipur State.
