ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZES GRAND EX-SERVICEMEN RALLY IN MANIPUR

Assam Rifles proudly organized a Grand Ex-Servicemen Rally on 21 September at Kakching Garrison, bringing together 298 ex-servicemen, 58 Veer Naris/widows, wards of two World War II veterans, and 74 dependents from across Manipur. The rally, themed Pride in Service: Remembering, Reflecting, and Rekindling, was a heartfelt tribute to the service and sacrifices of veterans and their families, while also addressing their concerns and needs.

The rally was graced by prominent dignitaries, including the Director General Assam Rifles, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), Lieutenant General KH Singh (Retd), DIG Range 2, the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police of Kakching, and the Special Secretary to the Home Commissioner. All present expressed deep admiration for the sacrifices of the veterans and reaffirmed their support for the welfare of the ex-servicemen community.

The event included several service-oriented kiosks, such as a medical camp, social welfare kiosk, skill development center, and Assam Rifles’ exclusive support desks. These kiosks provided one-stop solutions for various issues faced by the veterans and their families. As a mark of appreciation, essential items such as motorized wheelchairs, commode chairs, hearing aids, and walking sticks were distributed to assist the veterans and their loved ones.

In a vibrant display of cultural heritage, the event featured mesmerizing performances, including the Khukri dance and Pipe Band displays by Assam Rifles, along with traditional Manipuri dances performed by students of Assam Rifles Public School, Kakching. These performances not only celebrated the rich traditions of the region but also symbolized the unity and pride shared by the Assam Rifles and its veterans.

What made the event even more remarkable was that despite inclement weather conditions, nothing could dampen the enthusiasm of the veterans, Veer Naris, and their families. The Assam Rifles demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the ex-servicemen, overcoming nature’s challenges to ensure the success of the rally. This resilience reflects the indomitable spirit of the Assam Rifles, which continues to live on in its ex-servicemen.

The rally served as a powerful testament to the strong bond between the Assam Rifles and its veterans, underscoring the organization’s dedication to their well-being. The event was widely appreciated by all attendees, who left with a renewed sense of pride and gratitude.
