Morshing Village is honored to have achieved third position in the prestigious Best Tourist Destination Awards

In a determined effort to uplift and promote the area in sustainable and responsible tourism, Morshing Village celebrated its achievement of securing 3rd position in the Best Tourist Destination Awards under the category of Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable and Responsible Tourism Practices, awarded by the Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

Attending the event as the Chief Guest,  Tseten Chombey, HMLA of Kalaktang, appealed to the local community to recognize the value and importance of this award. He emphasized that the time has come to harness the region’s potential, but only through collective efforts. He also encouraged the two neighboring villages, Domkho and Sanglem, to participate equally in these developmental initiatives.

Chombey highlighted Shargaon Village as an example of successful community-led tourism, stating, “Shargaon has become one of the most desirable tourist destinations in the region through collective effort,” urging the people to follow its example.

“Government aid will always be available, but innovation and hard work must come from the ground level,” he added.

Chombey also encouraged the youth to take advantage of government schemes such as the Deen Dayal Swavalamban Yojana, CM Prayatna Yojana and others.

Emphasizing the potential for religious tourism in the region, he noted attractions like the ancient Lhagyala Gompa, as well as the historical significance of the 1962 Indo-China war site, where over 200 soldiers sacrificed their lives.

“Each year, the government selects one destination as a Global Tourism Destination for the country. My vision is to see this region recognized globally, and I urge everyone to come forward in support,” he appealed.

Chombey also accepted three memorandums submitted by the villagers and inaugurated the Lama Tenpai Dronmey Museum in Morshing. He commended Rinchin Norbu for establishing the museum through personal efforts and assured his support for its growth. He also donated a generator, showcases, and carpeting for the museum.
