The wealth of information shared not only captivated the young minds but also provided them with valuable life lessons and sustainable practices to implement in their daily lives.
The session on menstrual health and hygiene, spearheaded by Mr. Raman Singh and his dedicated team from Blessing Pads, was a particularly impactful highlight. The team’s engaging talk shed light on the essential aspects of menstrual well-being, safe and eco-conscious use of sanitary products, and the importance of breaking taboos surrounding menstrual health. They emphasized the significance of maintaining overall hygiene to prevent infections and foster well-being. The cadets, both young men and women, left with a greater understanding of such an important subject and a newfound sense of responsibility to advocate for menstrual awareness in their communities.
Continuing the series of thought-provoking lectures, Dr. Rachna Devi, Assistant Professor from PSPS GCW Gandhinagar, passionately addressed the menace of substance abuse. With a deep sense of urgency, she highlighted the dangers posed by drugs and abusive substances, emphasizing the ripple effects they have on individuals, families, and society. Dr. Devi’s lecture delved into practical preventive measures, encouraging cadets to stay resilient and informed in the face of peer pressure and societal challenges. Her call to prioritize mental and physical health resonated deeply, urging the cadets to make choices that safeguard their futures.
Adding a layer of environmental consciousness to the training, Mr. Rajat Salgotra, CEO of Samast Eco Alternatives, inspired the audience with his innovative approach to waste management. His dynamic session introduced cadets to the pressing need for eco-friendly practices, emphasizing the requirement of creative solutions to reduce the environmental burden of waste. Mr. Salgotra discussed alternative methods to repurpose everyday items considered waste, likening these solutions to hidden opportunities lying just beneath the surface, like an iceberg. His passion for protecting the planet was palpable as he showcased some of his organization’s impactful eco-friendly initiatives, such as handcrafted diyas and incense sticks made from biodegradable materials. The cadets were spellbound by his resourcefulness and were left motivated to contribute towards environmental preservation.
