Lieutenant General Zubin A Minwala, GOC Trishakti Corps, laid a wreath at the War Memorial, paying tribute to the heroes of the 1971 Indo-Pak War, which led to the liberation of Bangladesh.
Over 85 veterans participated, with representatives laying wreaths. The GOC later felicitated and interacted with the veterans.
December 16 is a day of national pride and to celebrate the honour of indian army for their selfless service and valour.
On this day in 1971, the Indian Army brought Pakistani army to its knees and gave 75 million people of Bangladesh their independence. This Day the entire World saw unprecedented surrender of more than 93000 Pakistani soldiers.
