FLAG IN CEREMONY OF NATIONAL INTEGRATION TOUR OF STUDENTS OF MANIPUR ORGANISED BY ASSAM RIFLES INSPECTOR GENERAL ASSAM RIFLES (SOUTH)

Flag in Ceremony of National Integration Tour for the youths of Manipur under the Assam Rifles’ Civic Action Program was conducted by, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) at Mantripukhri Garrison on 16 January 25. The tour commenced on 8 January and culminated on 16 January 25. Total 20 youths of Manipur including 14 boys and 06 girls, were taken on an enriching journey to Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.

The primary objective of this tour was to provide the youths with an opportunity to experience the cultural diversity and rich heritage of Southern India while also familiarizing them with the developments and progress made in these cities. It aimed to broaden their horizons, inspire them and encourage a sense of national unity and integration.

During their visit to Hyderabad, the participants had a chance to explore Hyderabad’s iconic tourist attractions and interacted with distinguished senior officials from the Armed Forces. One of the highlights of the tour was the visit to the prestigious Air Force Academy at Dundigal. The group also toured several Army establishments and met with accomplished sports personalities, further encouraging them to pursue excellence in their respective fields.

The second leg of the journey took the youth to Visakhapatnam, where they visited the Eastern Naval Command and other significant tourist spots in the city. The tour culminated with a visit to Kolkata, where the participants engaged with the Army Commander of the Eastern Command. These interactions provided the youth with valuable exposure to all the three services of the Armed Forces and the vital role played by security forces in national security.

This National Integration Tour organized by the Assam Rifles stands as a testament to the force’s unwavering commitment towards the restoration of normalcy and peace in the state of Manipur. ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES FRIENDLY FOOTBALL MATCH IN NEW SAMTAL VILLAGE

In a spirited display of community engagement, the Assam Rifles Battalion organised a friendly football match between its troops and local youths at New Samtal village, Chandel District, on 15 January 2025.

The football match was played with fervour and sportsmanship, providing a platform for friendly competition while strengthening the bond among the villagers. The closely contested match culminated in the New Samtal team emerging victorious. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where participants were honoured for their exceptional performance and sportsmanship.

The Assam Rifles’ initiative aims to foster camaraderie and mutual respect between the armed forces and local communities. By engaging with the youth through sports, the Assam Rifles continues to promote unity and goodwill in the region.

*SECURITY FORCES INCLUDING ASSAM RIFLES DESTROY ILLICIT POPPY CULTIVATION*

In a significant operation aimed at eradicating the drug menace in Manipur, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Manipur Police, representatives from the Narcotics and Affairs of Border, and District Forest Officials, successfully destroyed approximately 4.8 acres of illicit poppy cultivation in the general area of Haupi Mollen Village, Churachandpur, on 15 January 2025.

This operation underscores the sustained efforts of the Assam Rifles to curb the production and trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances in the region. The destruction of these poppy fields is a critical step in addressing the root causes of drug addiction and dismantling the illegal trade networks that threaten the social and economic fabric of Manipur.

The operation highlights the dedication of the Assam Rifles in ensuring peace and security within Manipur. The actions taken have far-reaching implications for the community, contributing to a healthier society and protecting vulnerable youth from addiction. ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES SECURITY MEET AND TREE PLANTATION DRIVE

The Assam Rifles organised a Security Meet followed by a tree plantation drive at T Khongkhai village, Churachandpur District, on 16 January 2025. The event successfully brought together village council members and village chiefs to discuss vital security issues and strengthen community ties.

The primary objective of the security meeting was to address local security concerns, enhance cooperation, and ensure a safe and peaceful environment in the region. Discussions emphasised the importance of mutual trust and collaboration between the security forces and local leadership in maintaining stability and harmony within the community.

Following the meeting, a tree plantation drive was conducted, during which numerous saplings were planted around the area. The plantation drive saw enthusiastic participation from all attendees, including village council members, village chiefs, and Assam Rifles personnel. This initiative reflects the Assam Rifles’ commitment to environmental conservation and community welfare.
