Assam Rifles played a vital role in controlling a forest fire that broke out in Khongnang Phaisabi village, Kakching district, on 4th March 2025.
The fire broke at around 1440 hours on 4th Mar in General Area Khongnang Phaisabi and quickly spread, endangering security posts of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police.
A team from Assam Rifles, equipped with fire extinguishers, fire beaters, and buckets, reached the site quickly and began firefighting efforts. Working in coordination with Manipur Police Station, the Forest Department, and Fire Services, they battled the fire throughout the night. By next morning the fire was successfully brought under control, preventing major damage to the forest and protecting security infrastructure in the area.
The prompt response of Assam Rifles earned appreciation from state agencies and local authorities, highlighting their dedication to safeguarding communities, protecting the environment, and ensuring regional security.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZES MEDICAL CAMP IN CHANDEL DISTRICT
With the aim of providing medical check-ups and treatment to residents of Twilelon, in Chandel district, Manipur, Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp.
The camp attended by locals of Twilelon and neighbouring villages, offered essential healthcare services, including comprehensive medical check-ups and distribution of medicines. Approximately 150 patients including 76 women, and 24 children, received medical attention, treatment, and referrals for further care. Additionally, awareness sessions on Dengue, Malaria, Diarrhea, and other seasonal diseases were conducted.
This initiative played a vital role in supporting underprivileged communities in remote areas by ensuring access to basic healthcare.
ASSAM RIFLES NATIONAL INTEGRATION TOUR VISITS HISTORIC & MILITARY LANDMARKS
As part of the National Integration Tour for 17 boys and 11 girls organised by Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps visiting Delhi, the participants visited key military and historical sites in Delhi on 05 and 6th March 2025.
On 05 March 2025, the team explored the Indian Air Force Museum, Rajputana Rifles Regimental Centre, and Red Fort, gaining valuable insights into India’s military history and freedom struggle. The visit provided participants with an opportunity to witness the legacy and sacrifices of the armed forces.
Continuing their educational journey, on 06 March 2025, the team visited the National Security Guard (NSG) Centre, where they learned about the elite counter-terrorism force’s operations and training and marvelled at the technical and military might of the Indian Defence Forces. The tour also included local sightseeing, enhancing cultural awareness among the participants.
The four days stay in Delhi provided the students a wholesome experience of the capital, wherein they immersed themselves in the rich cultural, architectural and historical grandeur of the country, visited military installations and also interacted with the Hon’ble President of India.
ASSAM RIFLES CONSTRUCTS COMMUNITY HALL AND TOILET BLOCK IN CHANDEL DISTRICT
Assam Rifles has constructed a modern community hall along with a toilet block for Beru Khudam village in Chandel district on 06 March 2025.
The initiative aims to provide a dedicated space for social gatherings, community meetings, welfare programs and awareness initiatives, strengthening unity and progress among the local populace.
The newly built toilet block addresses a critical need for improved sanitation, promoting better hygiene and public health standards in the region.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the participation of approximately 40 villagers, including the village chief.
ASSAM RIFLES COMMEMORATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY BY ORGANISING A WORKSHOP
To celebrate the spirit of womanhood, Assam Rifles organised a workshop themed “Thrive her by Conquering Stress and Building Success” in Mantripukhri Garrison on 05 March 2025. The event witnessed active participation from women and children.
Assam Rifles has been working in Manipur to empower women to make them self-reliant by providing them with necessary support, guidance and facilitating skill development and entrepreneurship opportunities.
The workshop also highlighted the importance of stress management, especially for women balancing multiple roles. Key aspects covered were on recognizing stress with specific attention to triggers and impact, coping strategies to include mindfulness, time management and self-care. The spotlight was on empowerment & Resilience by Setting boundaries and nurturing a support system.
