In a series of operations, Indian Army and Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps launched intelligence-based operations in the hill and valley districts of Imphal West, Kakching, Imphal East, Churachandpur and Bishnupur between 4th – 5th April 2025 in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP, apprehended six cadres and recovered 22 weapons, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.
On receipt of intelligence inputs of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Karpur Sangha, in Imphal East district, Indian Army and Manipur Police launched a joint operation resulting in apprehension of two cadres and recovery of one pistol.
Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Chandpur in Bishnupur district, Indian Army and Manipur Police launched a joint operation on 04 April 25 and recovered four weapons comprising one Self Loading Rifle (SLR), one Carbine, one .303 Rifle, one Double barrel Rifle, ammunition and war like stores.
On April 4, 2025, intelligence inputs indicated presence of arms and ammunition in the general area Khongam Pat in Imphal West district. Troops of Indian Army and Manipur Police swiftly launched a joint operation and recovered six weapons comprising one SLR, one 303 Rifle, one gun with telescopic sight, one 0.177gun, two Pistols, ammunition and war like stores.
On the same day, in Kakching district, on receipt of intelligence of presence of cadres, arms and ammunition, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched an intelligence-based operation in general area Khongjom Khebaching, apprehended two cadres and recovered two pistols, ammunition and war like stores.
In Churachandpur district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched an intelligence-based operation to apprehend cadres of insurgent groups in general area D Vaison and other areas. The operation resulted in apprehension of two cadres.
Similarly, in Imphal East district, an intelligence-based operation in general area Ngariyan Hill resulted in recovery of nine weapons comprising one Carbine, four Pistols, one .22 Rifle, one 12 Bore Single Barrel Rifle, two Single Bore Barrel Rifles, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.
The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police.
These coordinated efforts by security forces highlight their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Manipur.
