ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES HEROIN WORTH ₹4.05 CRORES IN CACHAR DISTRICT, ASSAM
Assam Rifles launched a joint operation with Cachar Police based on information of trafficking of drugs in Cachar district.
During the operation, the team apprehended one individual who was transporting heroin worth ₹4.05 Crores via Silchar Bypass near Maharpur late night on 17 February 2026. The apprehended individual along with the seized vehicle have been handed over to Cachar Police for further investigation.

During the operation, the team apprehended one individual who was transporting heroin worth ₹40 lacs on Silchar Bypass near Maharpur, late in the evening.The apprehended individual and drugs have been handed over to Cachar Police for further investigation.

JOINT OPERATION BY ASSAM RIFLES LEADS TO MAJOR SEIZURE OF YABA TABLETS
In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), achieved a significant success in Khowai district, Tripura.
During the operation, security forces recovered approximately 4,50,000 Yaba tablets with an estimated market value of ₹45 Crore. The contraband was seized from a truck .
One individual, resident of Assam was also apprehended in connection with the seizure.
This successful operation underscores continued commitment of Assam Rifles towards curbing drug trafficking and safeguarding the region from menace of narcotics.
ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES 1LAC STICKS OF FOREIGN CIGARETTE FROM AIZAWL, MIZORAM
Acting on specific intelligence regarding trafficking of contraband in general area Zemabawk, Aizawl district, Mizoram, Assam Rifles troops launched a swift and well-coordinated operation recently.
During the operation, the alert troops intercepted a vehicle and upon thorough checking recovered 1lac sticks of Foreign cigarette valued at approximately ₹ 13 lakhs. The contraband was being transported by one individual identified as Mr Lalrinsanga. The apprehended person along with the recovered items and vehicle were handed over to Customs Preventive Dept, Aizawl for further investigation and necessary legal action.
This successful recovery underscores Assam Rifles’ unwavering commitment to combating smuggling.
ASSAM RIFLES SEIZED ILLEGAL TOBACCO AND APPREHENDED TWO IN SIAHA DISTRICT, MIZORAM
Based on specific intelligence received from own sources regarding l movement of illegal tobacco products, a check post was established by Assam Rifles recently.The Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) was established in general area of Laki village, Siaha District, Mizoram, to intercept the suspected movement.
At approximately 11:20, two suspects, Myanmarese, were stopped and on thorough search, 74 kg of illegal tobacco worth about Rs 44,400/- was confiscated. The apprehended individuals have been identified as:
Mr Adum, s/o Rohmu, Age 29 years, Resident of Village Chahoo, District Paletwa, Myanmar.
Mr Pase, s/o Kothie, Age 40 years, Resident of Village Chahoo, District Paletwa, Myanmar.
The contraband along with the apprehended individuals have been handed over to Police Station Tuipang, Siaha District, for further legal proceedings.
