Sushil Chandra Appointed New Chief Election Commissioner Of India

Sushil Chandra has been appointed as the Chief Election Commissioner. Chandra will take office tomorrow. He belongs to the 1980 Batch of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS).

In a statement, the Law Ministry said: “The President appointed Shri Sushil Chandra the senior-most Election Commissioner, as the Chief Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India.”

Mr Chandra, 63, who was appointed Election Commissioner in February 2019,

Born on 15th May, 1957, Chandra did his B-Tech from Roorkee University and also holds a degree in LLB from DAV College, Dehradun.
