Due to Covid-19, Manipur lost the first woman physiotherapist Ranjita Khumanthem. She was only 40 years.
After testing positive for COVID-19, Ranjita Khumanthem was admitted to Raj Medicity in Imphal on May 16
She was working in AVRI SPECIAL CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, Imphal, Manipur.
She was from Khurai Puthiba near Salanthong, Imphal East and left her 3 years old son and husband.
As per the order issued by Imphal East deputy commissioner with regards to the disposal of dead bodies, Khumanthem’s family members did not want to claim her mortal remains. They requested the district administration to dispose of the body as per COVID-19 protocol.
