Indian sports and sportsperson will miss Kiren Rijiju but never forget

After the Union Cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday, one of the dynamic sports ministers of India Kiren Rijiju replace. Rijiju was appointed as the minister of state for sports in May 2019. Anurag Thakur takes charge as the new Sports Minister of India.

Now Rijiju takes charge as Minister of Law & Justice.

In Rijiju’s tenure, PV Sindhu became the first Indian to win the Badminton World Championships, G Sathiyan became the first Indian into the top 25 in table tennis world rankings.

Rijiju increase in prize money for national sports awards winners, prompt assistance for current and former athletes facing financial hardships and upgrade of infrastructure at various Sports Authority of India facilities across the country.

Rijiju also understands the potentiality of northeastern states where many talented sportspersons like Mary Kom, Sarita Devi, Hima Das, Dipa Karmakar, Dhiraj Singh. He inaugurates many s stadiums constructed for the different parts of Northeastern States.

Under his tenure, he will continue to offer financial help to needy former sportspersons. The Sports ministry has been providing financial assistance to Bangkok Asian Games gold medallist boxer Dingko Singh in times of crisis.

On June 30, Kiren Rijiju consoled sprinter Hima Das who is set to miss the Tokyo Olympics due to injury.

Being a Sports Minister Rijiju one of the dreams was for India to be top-10 in the 2028 Olympics.

Indian sports and sportsperson will miss him but never forget Kiren Rijiju.
