West Bengal Poll Violence all cases handed over to CBI: Calcutta High Court

The Calcutta High Court on Thursday orders West Bengal Government to be handed over to CBI.

Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and comprising Justices IP Mukerji, Harish Tandon, Soumen Sen and Subrata Talukdar ruled a court-monitored CBI probe into the incidents of post-poll violence pronounced its verdict at 11 am via video conferencing.  The Court also asked the central agency to file a report in six weeks.

Last month the court directed the National Human Rights Commission, or NHRC, to carry out a preliminary inquiry and submit a report on its recommendations.
