PFMS Organizes PFMS Workshop at Guwahati

As part of celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Public Financial Management System(PFMS), State Directorate, Guwahati has organized a workshop today in Guwahati highlighting the Single Nodal Account (SNA) and the Receipts, Expenditure, Advance and Transfer (REAT) module. Smt Neelam S Kumar, Principal Chief Controller of Accounts, Ministry of Finance, Government of India along with other dignitaries inaugurated the PFMS Workshop today. Smt Kumar in her speech said that the younger generation has to be made aware of the achievements,  actions and resolutions of the country in last 75 years so that it can inspire them to move forward so as to realize the dreams of an independent India.

Talking about PFMS Smt Kumar said that the PFMS has a unique capability to push online payments to almost every beneficiary vendor anywhere in the country. PFMS has been mandated by the government of India to mainly digitize all the central government payments, receipts and accounting functions, she said.  She informed that in Assam the total DBT payments made through PFMS since its inception in 2009 and 2010 is around 30 thousand crores to approximately 32 lakh beneficiaries.

Shri Sakesh Prasad Singh, Chief Controller of Accounts, Shri S.N Pradhan, Additional Director General, NE Zone, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Shri Dilip Kumar Borah, Secretary, Finance Department, Govt of Assam were also present in today’s programme.

In this PFMS Workshop Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati organized an exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to showcase the contribution of the freedom fighters towards our country. The artists of Regional Outreach Bureau also performed traditional dance and songs in today’s event.
