On 30 December, 2021 from 1130 to 1430 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Betai, 84 Battalion, Sector Headquarters Behrampore, organized a Civic Action Program, in which the villagers of Betai, Lalbaazar villages took part enthusiastically. This included men and women as well as children. In order to make the youths more aware about sports, sports items like volleyball, badminton, football, carrom board etc. were distributed in the camp. During this, a football competition was also played between the team of Betai and Belachupaara village to enhance the interest of the youth towards sports. By encouraging the players who performed well, their morale was also boosted. Village head and members were also present in this camp.
On the other hand, on December 30, 2021, the troops of Border Out Post Nimtita, 78 Battalion under Malda was organized Civic Action Program for the welfare of border residents of Nimita, in which more than 400 villagers from all the surrounding villages were present. A volleyball competition was also organized on this occasion. In this competition, five school teams from the areas of Border Out post Boyraghat, Chandnichak and Nimatita participated, in which the team of Chandnichak School won.
The winning and runner-up team was awarded with the award under the able leadership of Rakesh Razdan, Commanding Officer, 78 Battalion. Rakesh Razdan stated that such programs will continue to be organized also in future.
The program was highly praised in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier. Officer state that such programs create a good image of the BSF and inculcate a sense of security among the citizens. He stated that such programs would be organized in future also to increase the interest of the youth of border villages towards education and sports. He inspired the children to become a good citizen by reading and writing and also inspired them to raise the name of the country by performing well in sports.
