A state-of-the art building “ Swarna Jayanti Mother and Child Block” exclusively dedicated to Obstetrics/Gynaecology and Newborn care was inaugurated at Command Hospital, Kolkata on 27 Jan 22 .The inauguration was done by the auspicious hands of Mrs Archana Pande, Regional President , AWWA Eastern Command.The event was also graced by the members of AWWA of the Eastern command.
This building is a unique concept since it provides a comprehensive care for pregnant ladies, deliveries and newborn care along with preventive services, academics and training related to mother and child health as a separate block under one roof. The ground floor is dedicated for Obstetrics and Gynaecology OPD, the first floor harbours the newborn intensive care unit, the second floor consists of labour room and OT whereas the third floor is dedicated to preventive services and academics.
The event was followed by a token of appreciation by Mrs Archana Pande in the form of special gifts to two ladies (wives of JCOs) who worked with utmost dedication during the pandemic of COVID-19.
