Wine is not liquor, farmers will get benefit from wine sale: Shiv Sena leader

The Government of Maharashtra has today permitted the sale of wine, not liquor, in supermarkets and walk-in stores in the state. This does not imply for Wardha and Gadchiroli though.

Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has reacted to this, and has extended his viewpoint to the media. The reaction has also garnered national attention now!

“Wine is not liquor. If wine sale increases, farmers will get benefit from it. We’ve done this to double farmers’ income.BJP only opposes but does nothing for farmers”, he says.

Yesterday, Former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said of not allowing Maharashtra to become ‘Madya’Rashtra! Fadnavis is presently the Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly.

“Sir, pls have a glimpse at our neighbouring state which has already become “Madya Pradesh” under BJP CM Shivraj Chauhan. In Maharashtra to promote the wine industry & help farmers permission is given for selling only wines but in MP all liquors will be sold in super markets”, reads a tweet by General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Sachin Sawant, today morning.

He adds, “Also in MP now home stock also can be increased. Liquor shops will be called as Composite shops where traders can sell all types of liquor. Does BJP hv a strategy to oppose liquor while in opposition & promote liquor when in power?”
