BSF HANDED OVER THE ‘CASUALTY CERTIFICATE’ GIVEN BY THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA TO PARDEEP KUMAR MONDAL FOR HIS INCOMPARABLE CONTRIBUTION IN THE TERRORIST ATTACK IN THE VALLEY 31 YEARS AGO

Every day one or the other encounter news between the security forces and terrorists keep coming to the fore and the terrorists have to face defeat in front of the spirits of the BSF troops and they have to lose their lives. But sometimes the sons of Mother India also get martyred in these encounters. In this sequence, Pradeep Kumar Mandal, a resident of Rukundipur village in Malda district of West Bengal and posted as Constable in the 107 Battalion,(BSF), was doing duty in BSF’s TAC headquarters Soura, Jammu in 1991, about 31 years ago. A grenade was thrown by the terrorists at Nohatta Chowk in Srinagar near the truck with an ambush and fired from all directions. In this accident the truck driver, an ASI/clerk and constable Pradeep Kumar Mandal were injured due to firing. Even after being injured, Pradeep had attained martyrdom by sacrificing his life while protecting his country in an ambush by terrorists.

At the same time, saluting his incomparable contribution to the country, 31 years after his martyrdom, Shri Sudhir Hooda, DIG, Sector Headquarters Malda BSF, on Monday, March 14, gave the ‘Operational Casualty Certificate’ from the Government of India to the relatives of the martyr. ‘ (Casualty certificate) handed over. BSF officials handed over this certificate to his wife.

On the occasion of handing over the certificate, the whole atmosphere became inconsolable and all the people present there, including the DIG, had tears in their eyes. Here, in a statement issued by BSF’s South Bengal Frontier Headquarters, Kolkata, it was told that the Border Security Force puts those who make sacrifices for the country paramount.

Martyer Pardeep was recruited in BSF in 1988

It was stated in the statement that the constable had joined the Border Security Force in March 1986. He was posted in BSF’s 107 Battalion and his duty was in the BSF’s Tac headquarters, Soura, Jammu area. According to the BSF, on December 24, 1991, three soldiers including constable Pradeep Kumar Mandal were martyred for the country in the attack of terrorists. After that, the sacrifice certificate has now been handed over to his wife by the BSF.
