BSF apprehended Bangladeshi smuggler with 28 bottles of liquor at Indo-Bangladesh Border

On April 01, 2022, at around 1310 hrs, acting on specific information, Border Out Post Dobarpara, 158 Battalion troops apprehended a Bangladeshi smuggler with two Nylon Bags (Potla) by laid a special Ambush near Ichhamati River (International Border). On search of the apprehended smuggler by BSF troops, 28 bottles of country liquor were recovered from inside his bag.


The apprehended smuggler has been identified as Ripon Moral, 24 years old, Village – Putkhali, Thana – Benapole, District – Jessore (Bangladesh).

Today morning (April 01) he illegally crossed the International Boundary and came to Dobarpara (India). After coming to India, he had taken these liquor bottles from Indian smuggler Purnima Dhali, W/o- Kumar Dhali (Village- Bornberia, Gaighata) and was on his way to Ichmati river (International border) to go back to Bangladesh. As soon as he reached near BSF duty line , BSF apprehended him with both the bags.

The apprehended Bangladeshi smuggler and seized liquor have been handed over to Gaighata Police Station for further legal action.

Shri Harendra Singh Tomar, Commanding Officer, 158 battalion expressed happiness over the achievements of the jawans, in which the jawans apprehended 01 Bangladeshi smuggler with 28 bottles of country liquor. The official added that they will not allow any kind of smuggling in their area.
