BANGLADESHI MINOR BOY AND WOMAN APPREHENDED AT THE BORDER, HANDED OVER TO BGB AS HUMANITY AND GOODWILL

On April 01, 2022 Vigilant troops of Border Out Post Jeetpur, 68 Battalion detained a woman and a minor boy while crossing the International Boundary illegally in the last 24 hours.

Inadvertently crossed International Boundary while cutting grass. The apprehended minor is a resident of the Bordering village of Jhenaidah district of Bangladesh whose name is Naseer Biswas (fictitious name), age 15 years which accidentally entered into India while cutting grass, which was apprehended by the BSF troops.


The same apprehended woman was identified as Nibha, age 40,(Fictitious Name) who hails in Barishal district of Bangladesh. During investigation the woman revealed that she had come to India with her husband five years ago and lived in Vidyadharpur, Kolkata and used to work as a maid there, after that her husband moved to Bangladesh and she started living in Bangaon. She further revealed that she was going back to Bangladesh today.

The apprehended minor boy and woman were handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh on the basis of humanity as well as goodwill gesture.

Shri Yoginder Agrawal, Commanding Officer of 68 Battalion stated that Border Security Force is taking strict measures to stop illegal movement along the Indo-Bangladesh border. He further stated that many times farmers and their children cross the International Boundary unintentionally while grazing cattle or cutting grass near the border, due to the mutual cooperation and goodwill gesture of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries in view of the seriousness of their crime they were handed over to BGB.
