BSF APPREHENDED A SMUGGLER ON THE BORDER

On 09 April, 2022, at around 1405 hrs, acting on the basis of sprcific input, the troops of Border Out Post Ramchandra Pur of 107 Battalion, detained a person with 10 kg of ganja. Apprehended smuggler Identified as Raju Mandal, age 30 years, S/o Bakar Mandal, a resident of Bira village in North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal.

During interrogation, Raju Mandal revealed that he usually works as a laborer in agriculture but sometimes he also does smuggling work to earn easy money. He further revealed that today he had taken five packets of 10 kg ganja from Rajesh Mandal of Bira village and was about to throw them over the fence which was to be taken to Bilal Mandal and Imadul Mandal of Raghunathpura village of Bangladesh. Rajesh Mandal was going to give him 5000/- for this work.

Apprehended person had been handed over to the Police Station Bangaon along with the seized items.

Sunil Kumar, Commanding Officer of 107 battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to stop smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Due to which people involved in smuggling are facing a lot of difficulties. The officer stated in strong words that the Border Security Force will not allow smuggling under any circumstances.
