Today being the last day of campaigning for the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) elections, each of the political parties have put their last efforts for respective candidates. Guwahati has seen an politically active atmosphere today.
Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Atishi Marlena, who arrived from Delhi to Guwahati to campaign for the polls criticised the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today in the state capital. Atishi is a senior politician of AAP.
“The BJP has no plans for the development of Guwahati or Assam. If they really wanted to work, they would have done so far (Sic.)”, said MLA Atishi to the media.
“After witnessing huge support for AAP, other parties have started to get nervous. They have already started removing our banners & posters.”, reads a tweet by AAP Assam yesterday.
It adds, “But everyone should know that removing Aam Aadmi Party’s banners & posters can’t remove Arvind Kejriwal from people’s hearts.”
“This is the difference between BJP’s education model & Aam Aadmi Party’s education model. While the BJP is destroying public education, AAP is improving public educational facilities for a better future.”, reads another tweet by AAP Assam yesterday. It has an attached video for reference to the said subject.
