Two teams from Sikkim will play seven matches against their corresponding CAB sides as part of the exchange program for giving exposure to their cricketers.
“Sikkim is playing good cricket. We have excellent relations with them and have recently signed a MoU with them for giving exposure to their teams and hand-holding their development projects. It is under this exchange programme that their teams are coming,” said CAB President Avishek Dalmiya.
“CAB has always stood by other states that are developing cricket in their states. Sikkim is working hard to develop the game and scout new talents from their scenic state and we have promised and will help them in every possible way,” he added.
CAB Secretary Snehasish Ganguly said: “We welcome the Sikkim teams to CAB. We have always supported their cricket and they will get all the help they need to develop their cricket.”
Their U-19 women’s team will play five one day matches against the emerging Bengal women’s team, while their U-16 boys’ team will play 2 two-day matches against the Bengal boys.
CAB and Sikkim Cricket association executed a memorandum of understanding on 25 May that would help SCA players get exposure by playing matches against various teams of CAB.
The exposure program will also include workshops for support staffs, coaches, curators, umpires and trainers. They will also get support from CAB in lending technological and technical know-how for development of their cricket.
