BSF SEIZED SMUGGLING ITEMS WORTH 17.42 LAKH INCLUDING 03 SMUGGLERS ON INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

On 27/28 July, 2022, the vigilant troops of South Bengal Frontier have succeeded in seizing smuggled items worth Rs17,42,892. In which three smugglers

have also been apprehended red handed.
In the first incident, Border Out Post Ghojadanga, Sector Kolkata, 153 Battalion troops seized 09 fish balls from a smuggler named Viplab Sarkar and the troops of Border Out Post Boltala, 118 Battalion seized 30 pin fish balls from Mominur Rahman and the troops of Border Out Post Dobarpara, 158 Battalion seized 394 Phensedyl from a smuggler named Hafizul Rehman. Smugglers were trying to take the seized items from India to Bangladesh.

Apart from this, in another incident, 64 mobiles were seized from the area of ​​their responsibility by the alert troops of the Border Out Post MS Pur, 70 Battalion. The value of the seized mobile has been estimated at Rs 9,42,000/-. While the smugglers have managed to escaped.

The apprehended smugglers along with the seized items have been handed over to the concerned Police Station for further legal action.

The Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier expressed happiness over the achievement of the jawans. In which the troops foiled the smuggling attempts. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by his jawans on duty. The officer clearly stated that nothing can hide from the eyes of his troops. He also stated that they also have an excellent team to provide accurate information related to smuggling, which keeps a close watch on the criminal activities taking place in the border area.
