On 15th September, 2022 at about 0015 hrs, on the basis of reliable information, troops of Border Out Post Sutia, 107 Battalion, Sector Krishnanagar apprehended 04 smugglers with 26 kg of ganja from their area of responsibility. The apprehended smugglers were identified as Sujjo Mandal (20), Prashanjit Mandal (32), Habibul Mandal (28) and Sukanta Mandal (30), North 24 Parganas.
During interrogation, all smugglers admitted that they were involved in cross Border smuggling for a long time and today they took this ganja from Paikpada and Sutiya village and were about to give it to Biplav resident of village Giba, Bangladesh.
The seized goods and the smugglers have been handed over to the Police Station Bangaon for further legal action.
Shri A Rajendran, Commanding Officer of 107 Battalion stated that BSF is taking stringent action to check smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Further, the officer stated in strong words that the BSF will not allow smuggling under any circumstances.
