Motorcycle Expedition of North Eastern states to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and pay homage to Martyrs

The Army Service Corps (ASC) Tornadoes comprising of one officer, two JCOs and sixteen Other Ranks led by Capt AS Grewal are undertaking a Motorcycle Expedition of North Eastern states to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and pay homage to Martyrs. The expedition is sponsered by Royal Enfield.


The daredevils of team Tornadoes embarked upon this adventure on 1st October from Tezpur. The Tornadoes reached Dimapur on the Day 12 of their Expedition from Leimakhong.


Enroute from Leimakhong to Rangapahar Military Station (Dimapur), Tornadoes paid homage to Capt Kenguruse, MVC at his native village Nerhema (Nagaland). An ASC officer, Capt Kenguruse was attached with 2 RAJPUTANA RIFLES during Kargil Operations. Owing to his unflinching bravery during the operations, Capt Kenguruse was awarded the Mahavir Chakra (Posthumously), the second highest award for act of bravery in the face of enemy.


Mr Neiselie and Mrs Dinuo Kenguruse, the parents of Capt Kenguruse, alongwith his brother Atoulie Kenguruse were present at the Kenguruse War Memorial during the wreath laying ceremony by the Tornadoes Team.

After an overnight halt at Rangapahar on 12 October 2022 the team paid homage to Martyrs at Rangapahar Military Station and was flagged off on 13 October 2022 by Lt General RC Tiwari, AVSM, SM, for their journey to Jorhat and Dinjan.
