The vibrant North Eastern States of the country have made noteworthy and significant contributions towards overall nation building. As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) celebrations, Indian Army, under the aegis of HQ Eastern Command is organising ‘Purvottar Swabhiman Utsav’ a two day Mega Event on the theme of ‘Celebrating Contribution of India’s North East Region (NER) in Nation Building’ on 20 & 21 Nov 2022 at Guwahati.
As part of Purvottar Swabhiman Utsav, a Veer Nari Felicitation Ceremony was organised on 20 Nov 2022 at Brahmaputra Hall, Narangi Military Station, Guwahati to honour the sacrifices of the brave-hearts.It was also to reinforce and reiterate the Indian Army’s goal of providing quality healthcare, dignity and problem-resolution to Veer Naris of the soldiers and that the Army is sensitive to their needs and their families are cared for and looked after well. Veer Naris from all the states of the North East participated and were facilitated in the event.
The occasion was graced by Mrs Riniki Bhuyan Sharma wife of CM Assam and Mrs Nisha Kalita, Regional President, Eastern Command, AWWA. Dr Anshu Jamsenpa, Padma Shri a five time Everest Summiteer was a special invitee.
