Applauding the efforts of ‘Thianghlimna Committee’ in their effort to eliminate tobacco and tobacco related products, chief guest Dr R Lalthangliana expressed his wish for the other congregations to follow suit. The Minister pointed out that in dealing with covid-19 pandemic, with respect to population percentage, Mizoram holds the record of being one of the most tested state with least mortality state due to the collective efforts of churches, NGOs, communities and the people as a whole. Though known for its peaceful nature and famed for being the second highest literate state in the country, he expressed his regret that Mizoram has one of the most prevalent cancer and HIV cases in the country. He asked the audience to hold firm in their commitment to eliminate tobacco and its related products from the state and to work together having ‘When health is lost, everything is lost’ as a motto.

Rev. KVL Hmangaihkima, District Superintendent gave a short speech followed by a report from Rev. R Laltlankima and vote of thanks proposal from Rev. H Lalropuia. Prize distribution for short film competition organized with ‘Thianghlimna’ as a Topic was held and the prizes went to;

3) College veng PYD
