The Mising community one of the indigenous tribes of Assam on Wednesday celebrated Ali Aye Ligang festival.
This festivals is held on first Wednesday on month of Faghun.
It is a spring festival associated with agriculture, specially with the beginning of the Ahu paddy cultivation.“Ali” means root and seed, “ai” means fruit, and “Ligang” means to sow.
This festival is the most colourful festival of the Mising people.
