BSF conducts civic action program with medical camp, football match, and sports items distribution at orphanage

On February 14, 2023, the 08 Battalion of BSF organized a civic action program at the Shankar Mission Orphanage in the town of Krishna Nagar, located in the Nadia district. The event was attended by the Regional President of BSF Women’s Welfare Association (BWWA), as the chief guest, along with DIG Sector Krishnanagar, and Commanding Officer of 08 Battalion, as well as 15 other officers and jawans.

During the program, PA equipment, sports items, and cleaning materials were presented to the children of the orphanage. The custodian of the Sri Saddha Chaitanya Brahmachari Orphanage expressed gratitude to BSF for their humanitarian initiative, stating that the orphans were visibly happy.

Additionally, BSF organized a medical camp at Border Outpost Rautbari and Kazipara of 84 Battalion, where around 280 people, including the Gram Panchayat Pradhan, received free check-ups and medicines. Following the medical camp, a friendly football match was played between Village Audia and Kathakali.

The 153 Battalion of BSF also organized a free medical camp at Border Outpost Gobardha, where around 200 people from Kaijuri and Ghojadanga received medical attention, and a football match was played.

The Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier acknowledged the dedication of the jawans in securing the border and fostering a sense of security and cooperation among the border residents. He further mentioned that this initiative by BSF to help the orphan children is a small effort that the organization hopes to continue and expand to intensify the feeling of patriotism and love for the country among the orphans.”
