Foiling smuggling attempts, the BSF has seized Phensedyl from different places

On February 19th, 2023, BSF troops under the South Bengal Frontier seized 363 bottles of Phensedyl from different areas on the International Border, which were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. The estimated value of the seized Phensedyl bottles is approximately Rs.74,527/-.
Based on intelligence inputs, the BSF troops of Border Outpost Charbhadra, 141 Battalion, observed suspicious movement of some smugglers near the International Boundary. On being challenged by the BSF troops, the smugglers panicked and escaped, leaving a bag behind. Upon an extensive search of the area, a plastic bag (potla) was recovered, containing 164 bottles of Phensedyl.

In other incidents, troops of Border Post Kalupota, 153 Battalion, seized 49 bottles, and Border Outpost Mahadipur, 70 Battalion, seized 150 bottles of Phensedyl.

All the seized Phensedyl bottles have been handed over to the concerned agencies for further investigation.

The Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier expressed satisfaction over the achievement of the BSF jawans and their commitment to stopping all kinds of trans-border crimes. The BSF jawans have once again proved their dedication and vigilance towards safeguarding the country’s border.
