Gulab Chand Kataria today swore in as the 31st Governor of Assam.
Kataria was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Gauhati High Court’s Chief Justice Sandeep Mehta at a brief ceremony at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra at Guwahati.
Previously, Kataria was an opposition leader in the Rajasthan assembly before he was appointed the governor of Assam.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, his cabinet colleagues, and senior officials of the state government among others attended the swearing-in ceremony.
