Tezpur DC Deba Kumar Mishra inaugurates Circle Level Emergency Management Exercise at Tezpur

Deputy Commissioner of Tezpur Deba Kumar Mishra inaugurated the Revenue Circle Level Emergency Management Exercise for Tezpur Revenue Circle at a meeting held at the conference hall of the DC’s Office here today.

Speaking at the function, the Deputy Commissioner sought complete participation and cooperation from all stakeholders in conducting the three-day long emergency management exercise and the mock drill on flood which will be held on March 18. He appealed to all present to get a complete know-how of flood disaster response and mitigation ahead of the upcoming flood season.

DPO, DDMA gave a brief presentation on the three-day exercise at the meeting which was attended by ADCs Romy Baruah, Raj Boruah, heads of various departments, and other stakeholders. CO Tezpur Pankaj Bora gave the valedictory address at the programme which was conducted by District Cultural Development Officer Jiten Das.

It may be noted that as part of the 3-day emergency management exercise, trainings on coordination and managing relief operation/ camps, basic search and rescue, school disaster preparedness and water and sanitation during emergency have been organized on the first day of the exercise. Resource persons from ASDMA, NDRF, Unicef and rural volunteer centres conducted the trainings.

A table-top exercise will be conducted on the second day along with a mock drill site visit and preparation for the mock drill to be held on Friday.

The mock drill on flood will be held on March 18 at Kalibari Chuk near Hanuman mandir, where Lutheran HS, Kalibari has been identified as the relief camp for conducting the exercise.
