Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), DRDO, Tezpur participated in World Water Day-2023 celebration at North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management (NERIWALM), Tezpur on 22 March, 2023.
Director, DRL, Dr Dev Vrat Kamboj was the guest of honour of the programme. The programme started with the address of Prof Pradip Kumar Bora, Director NERIWALM, Tezpur. Director DRL, Tezpur delivered a lecture on a topic entitled “Water purification technology and sustainable development”. Total thirty (30) students from three different schools, viz., Surjyodaya HS School, Tezpur, Calvary English HS School, Tezpur and Tezpur Academy HS School, Tezpur participated in this programme. A group of scientists from DRL participated in this programme. Faculty members, staff and research scholars of NERIWALM were also present on this occasion.
Director DRL in his deliberation explained broadly about awareness of water-related issues, such as water pollution, water scarcity, insufficient water supply, and inadequate sanitation. He also urged the august gathering to manage freshwater resources sustainably. Live demonstration of DRL developed products viz., DRDO water testing kit, pocket type water filter for field use, advanced Iron Removal Unit.
