BSF troops under South Bengal Frontier foiled the plans of smugglers and seized 10 Kgs of Ganja on India-Bangladesh border, while being smuggled from India to Bangladesh illegally.
On 29th March 2023, acting on reliable information, troops of Border Out Post Amudia, 112 Battalion laid ambush in their responsibility area. At about 2145 hrs, Ambush party observed some suspicious movement of 02-03 smugglers carrying 02 plastic bags and moving towards Border Fence for throwing purpose. On being challenged by ambush party, smugglers escaped from there by taking advantage of dark thick vegetation and dense habitation. Thereafter, Ambush party searched the surrounding area thoroughly. During searching, troops recovered 02 plastic bags (Potla) containing 10 Kgs Ganja.
The seized Ganja has been handed over to Custom Office Tentulia for further legal action.
Spokesperson of South Bengal Frontier expressing his happiness over the achievement of the BSF jawans stated that this displays the vigilance of BSF jawans on duty. He urged the border people not to get indulge in smuggling activities under any circumstances. BSF jawans will not allow smuggling or any other kind of crime to take place on the border under any circumstances and no one will be spared if found involved in smuggling or trans border crimes.
