BSF JAWANS FOILS THE PLANS OF SMUGGLERS, SEIZED A HUGE QUANTITY OF PHENSEDYL AND GANJA ON INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

(District- North 24 Parganas, Malda & Nadia)

BSF jawans under South Bengal Frontier seized 585 bottles of Phensedyl and 05 kg of Ganja from their area of ​​responsibility along Indo-Bangladesh border, which smugglers were trying to take from India to Bangladesh. The estimated value of the seized Phensedyl bottles is Rs.1,20,107/-.

On April 30, 2023 troops of Border Outpost Dobarpara, Adhoc SB III Battalion observed suspicious movement of some smugglers near the International Border. When the jawans started moving towards the smugglers with the aim of thwarting the smuggling attempts, the smugglers fled from the spot taking advantage of the darkness and bushes. During the intensive search of the area, the jawans recovered 300 bottles of Phensedyl from the spot.

In other incidents on the same day, troops of Border Outposts Tungi, 54 Battalion, Madhupur, 68 Battalion, Bithari, 112 Battalion, Nawada and Lodia, 70 Battalion seized 285 bottles of Phensedyl and 05 kg of Ganja from their area of ​​responsibility.

The seized goods were handed over to the concerned agencies for further legal action.

A spokesperson of BSF South Bengal Frontier expressed satisfaction with the achievement of the jawans stated that the Border Security Force always maintains vigilance and adopts various operational measures to prevent smuggling along the border. He also stated that BSF has an excellent team to provide information related to smuggling, which keeps a close watch on the criminal activities happening in the border area.
