BSF’s South Bengal Frontier organized a Walkathon on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

The South Bengal Frontier of the Border Security Force (BSF) organized a Walkathon on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a celebration of India’s 75 years of independence. The event took place at the Frontier Headquarters in Rajarhat on June 9, 2023, at 5:30 AM.

The Walkathon/Run, spanning a distance of 10 kilometers, was organized with the primary objective of paying tribute to the brave freedom fighters who selflessly sacrificed everything for the liberation of our nation.

The ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Independence’ is a significant moment of reflection, celebration, and inspiration for the entire country. It offers a valuable opportunity to honor India’s glorious past, acknowledge its present achievements, and envision a prosperous future. By means of diverse activities and initiatives, this festival aims to instill a profound sense of pride, unity, and sustainable purpose among the Indian population.

Mukesh Tyagi, Acting Inspector General, South Bengal Frontier (Deputy Inspector General/Principal Staff Officer), flagged off the Walkathon/Run. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 300 individuals, including senior officers of the Border Security Force, jawans, their families, and children.

In addition to the Walkathon/Run held at the South Bengal Frontier Headquarters in Rajarhat, similar events were organized at the sector headquarters and Battalions under its jurisdiction.
