With an aim to start junior cricket from early November, for the first time in the recent past, the CAB Junior Cricket Committee, under the advice of CAB President Snehasish Ganguly, met the ground representatives in the month of July instead of September at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday.

The meeting was called to brief and create a framework to get the grounds match-ready well ahead of time for the early onset of the season.

The meeting was conducted in the presence of CAB Joint Secretary Debrabrata Das, Chairman of School Sub Committee Sanjay Das, School Sub Commitee Member Subrata Sinha and Ground Commitee Member Angshuman Bose.

Around 50 ground representatives from across the city and various districts made their presence felt at the meeting as the committee members briefed them about the facilities needed and also set a time-frame to get their grounds ready for the forthcoming season.

In what can be termed as a major development, the ground representatives assured the Committee Members that the fields will be match-ready by the end of October or latest by early November.

This will help the U-13, U-15, U-18 and Mayor’s Cup tournaments to get started early November.

The next meeting of this committee will be held at the end of September to review the progress of the work.

Meanwhile, the CAB Ground Committee Members will visit all the grounds across the city and districts to note the progress.
