Manik Saha Assures Action to Address Concerns Over Dilapidated Fence and Illegal Activities in Chandipur

In response to long-standing complaints from local residents, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited the area today to address the issues caused by a deteriorating 30-year-old barbed wire fence and erosion along the river. The residents have been facing problems, including cattle smuggling, illegal intrusion and theft, due to the compromised state of the fence.

During his visit, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, accompanied by cabinet ministers Tinku Roy and Sudhanshu Das, held meetings with key officials, including the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police (SP) and the Border Security Force (BSF). He also engaged with the Village Head and the locals to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation.

The Chief Minister expressed his concern for the residents and their safety, assuring them that he would take prompt action. He pledged to personally discuss the matter with the Union Home Minister to seek additional support and resources for the region. Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, he instructed the police and BSF to implement stringent measures to curb illegal activities along the compromised fence.

As a short-term measure, the Chief Minister ordered the establishment of small checkposts to intensify vigilance in the area. These checkposts will serve as an immediate deterrent to unlawful activities, preventing any further harm to the community.

Furthermore, he directed the authorities to identify and take legal action against individuals involved in illegal activities. By holding wrongdoers accountable, the Chief Minister aims to restore law and order in the region and protect the interests of law-abiding citizens.

Addressing the media during the program, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha stated, “The concerns raised by the local residents are legitimate, and I assure you that all grievances will be taken seriously. Our government is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of every citizen, and we will not tolerate any illegal activities disrupting peace and harmony.”

The Hon’ble Member of State Cabinet and local MLA, Tinku Roy, expressed his full support for the Chief Minister’s initiatives and pledged to work together to find sustainable solutions to the ongoing issues in the region.

With the Chief Minister’s proactive approach and commitment to resolving the problems in Chandipur, the residents are hopeful that the fence will be repaired, and stringent action will be taken against those responsible for illegal activities.

The government’s response to the concerns raised by the local residents reflects its dedication to addressing critical issues faced by communities, fostering a safe and secure environment for all. The assurance of the Chief Minister has instilled a sense of optimism among the people of Chandipur as they eagerly await the implementation of the proposed measures.
