On September 20, 2023, BSF’s Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and Plan India NGO collectively conducted a campaign in the area of Border Post Gongra, 82 Battalion to aware school girls in the high school of village Ranabandh against human trafficking, juvenile delinquency and gender discrimination.
At the same time, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit of BSF in collaboration with Plan India NGO, Shrima Mahila Samiti NGO, has organized a campaign in the high school of the border post Bornberia 08 Battalion deployed in the border area of Nadia district, to make school girls aware on the same topic.
In these programs, members of Anti Human Trafficking Unit of BSF, Plan India NGO, Shrima Mahila Samiti and Child Line NGO gave information to the villagers and girl students on social issues like gender discrimination, human trafficking, child marriage, child labour, child sexual exploitation etc. On this occasion, about 445 people including members of the concerned village, school teachers and girl students were present.
A K Arya, DIG, Public Relations Officer, BSF, South Bengal Frontier, stated BSF is running awareness campaigns on the border in collaboration with various NGOs to prevent child crime and human trafficking in the border area. So that human trafficking and child crime can be eliminated.
