Secondary School, Monigong, Shi-Yomi, Arunachal Pradesh and Bangladesh Krida Shiksha Prothishthan, Bangladesh secured their second straight wins in the group stage matches of the Subroto Cup Junior Girls (U 17) Inter School International Football Tournament played here at various venues.
St. Patrick’s High School, Jharkhand beat Tapovan Sanskar Kendra, DLSS Bharuch, Gujarat 9-1 in a Group A match played at the Ambedkar Stadium. Alpha Kandulna scored a hat trick for the winners. In the same ground, Govt. V.H.S.S, Kannur, Kerala beat Air Force Bal Bharti School, New Delhi 6-0. Tomorrow’s match between Kerala and Jharkhand will decide the group winners, who will eventually qualify for the quarterfinals.
In a Group E encounter at the Ambedkar Stadium, Tripura Sports School, Tripura beat Vasant Valley School, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi 5-0 for their second straight win. Binita Sinha scored a hat trick for the winners. In the other match of the group, Govt. Bethlehem Vengthlang Middle School-2, Mizoram beat Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pithoragarh, Uttarakahand 8-0 for their first win of the tournament. Lallawmzuali scored five goals for the school from Mizoram.
At the Tejas Football Ground, Saiden Secondary School, Nongpoh, Meghalaya beat Kendriya Vidyalaya IMA, Dehradun, Uttarakhand 4-0 in a Group G encounter. In the second match of the group played in the same ground, Rosary Higher Secondary School, Salcete, Goa got the better of Harish Panwar Senior Secondary School, Nainital, Uttarakhand 3-0. At the same ground, Rajendra Kusht Sewashram Balika Uchh Vidyalay Sah Inter College, Bihar beat Coast Guard Public School, Nani Daman 9-0 in a Group H match. Shivangi Kuamri scored four goals for the winners. In the other match of the group, Home Mission School, Aizawl (NCC) edged out Barnes School and Junior College, Nasik, Maharashtra 3-2 for their second straight win of the tournament.
Ananda Purna School of Science, Thoubal, Manipur continued their good start to the tournament in Group A, beating U.M.A.V Amlaai Kalari, Anoopur, Madhya Pradesh 4-0, played at the G.D Goenka University, Gurugram, taking their tournament tally to 30 goals. In the same group match, G.G.H.S.S, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu beat Navy Children School, New Delhi 10-0 in a dominating fashion, securing their first win in the tournament.
At the G.D Goenka University Ground, Gurugram, Bangladesh Krida Shiksha Prothishthan (BKSP) easily won 10-0 against Fountainhead School, Surat for their second win in Group B. In the other match of the group, Mata Rukmani Kanya Ashram, Bastar, Chattisgarh played a goalless draw against Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22A, Chandigarh.
At the Subroto Park Football Ground, G.S.S.S Alakhpura, Bhiwani, Haryana beat Hatimari High School, Malda, West Bengal 4-0, for their second win in Group C. In the other match of the group played in the same ground, Government Senior Secondary School, Soreng, Sikkim beat Infocus India Public School, 24 PGS (N) 2-1.
In the Group D match played at the Subroto Park Football Ground, Lohit Dikrong H.S.S, Lakhimpur, Assam beat Pinegrove School, Solan, Himachal Pradesh 4-1. In the other match of the group, Govt. Secondary School, Monigong, Shi-Yomi, Arunachal Pradesh came away with their second win, beating DNRM GGHSS, Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir 11-0. Yani Young thumped in seven goals for the Arunachal side.
