Assam Rifles seized approximately Rs 92.37 crores worth of contraband Areca Nuts packed in 13,365 bags during a search operation in general area Namlee and Wanglee villages of Kamjong District of Manipur on 20th October 2023.
The search operation was based upon credible inputs and led to the vigilant troops discovering several dumps of the conqtraband Areca Nuts. The seized items were handed over to Forest Beat Officer, Nambashi.
The seizure represents Assam Rifle’s ongoing commitment to preventing smuggling of contraband items , thereby thwarting economic damage to the state.
