The film revolves around the life, struggle, agony, and the transformation of a Behrupiya, who embodies a new look of a traditional folk art-form. With meticulous attention to detail, the director skillfully portrayed the emotions and challenges faced by the main character. Students were captivated by the story’s depth and the realistic portrayal of the protagonist’s journey.
After the screening, a lively discussion session was held, where the students enthusiastically shared their thoughts about the film with Bhasker Vishwanath himself. The writer-director shed light on his creative process, the challenges he faced during the making of the film, and his inspiration behind the project.

The interaction provided a valuable learning opportunity for the students, allowing them to gain insights into the filmmaker’s perspective, techniques, and storytelling methods. Furthermore, the session enabled the young minds to explore the complexities of the film’s themes and foster a deeper appreciation for cinema as an art form.

The initiative undertaken by Assam Down Town University to expose students to films selected for prestigious film festivals like the Indian Panorama is commendable. Such opportunities allow students to engage with the filmmaking community, broaden their understanding of cinema, and gain practical knowledge that complements their theoretical learning. The university aims to continue organizing similar events and screenings in the future, as it believes in the importance of film appreciation as a vital aspect of a well-rounded education.
