A five days Assam NCC festival began at Narangi Cantonment, Guwahati on 23 November 2023. NCC Cadets from all districts of Assam are participating in this prestigious event. NCC Festival will be conducted for the state of Assam which will be open for participation to all Senior Wing (SW) and Senior Division (SD) NCC cadets from all colleges of the state of Assam. The event will be held from 23rd November – 27th November 2023 at Brahmaputra Hall, Narangi, Guwahati.
The festival’s primary objective is to foster awareness of the NCC in Assam, encouraging a greater number of students to choose NCC as an extracurricular pursuit alongside their regular educational endeavours in schools and colleges. This fest will showcase the amalgamation of all regions of Assam.
The fest is declared open on 23rd November 2023, by Brigadier Dinar Dighe, Group Commander NCC, Guwahati and Commanding Officer, Colonel Ajay Kumar Sharma. The fest began with display of a variety of stalls, Know Your NCC stall displayed by Army, Navy and Airforce wings, handicraft and eatable stalls etc. Elocution and Painting Competition was also conducted 23rd November 23.
Various events will be conducted in coming four days, which includes group dance, group song, inter college live band, street play and drill competitions. Total of around 450-500 cadets will be participating from various districts of Assam.
