BSF ORGANIZES A BLOOD DONATION CAMP ON THE EVE OF ITS 59th FOUNDATION DAY

On 1st December 2023, Border Security Force (BSF) is celebrating its 59th Raising Day. Officers and men of Composite Hospital, BSF, Salt Lake, Kolkata and troops of 12 Battalion, BSF & SHQ Malda under South Bengal Frontier organized a series of Blood Donation Camps with Central Blood Bank, Maniktala, Kolkata and MMCH Blood Center Malda. It demonstrates the commitment of jawans of South Bengal Frontier to both security and community welfare.

According to information received, Blood Donation Camp at Composite Hospital, BSF, Salt Lake, Kolkata, headed by Dr Ashish Kumar, IG (Medical), SDG, Eastern Command, and 12 Battalion Headquarters headed by DIG, SHQ, Malda. Under the supervision of expert doctors and medical staff from Govt. Central Blood Bank, Maniktala, Kolkata and MMCH Blood Center Malda, the camp saw enthusiastic participation of jawans. A total of 46 units of blood were collected from Composite Hospital, Kolkata and 44 units from Malda. Officers, subordinate officers and other ranks of South Bengal Border, BSF actively participate in this blood donation camp. DIG, SHQ, Malda led by example and not only inspired her team to contribute but also personally donated blood during the event.

A. K Arya, DIG, Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier, said that the initiative aims to support people in need, emphasizing BSF’s commitment to not only national security but also the welfare of the larger community. The selfless act of donating blood reflects the ethos of service inherent in the Border Security Force.
