Assam Rifles organized a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the battalion headquarters on December 7 starting at 0900 hrs. The ceremony commemorated the 22nd anniversary of the supreme sacrifice made by Rifleman (L) Rakesh Singh, Service Number 2103216, who laid down his life in the line of duty on December 7, 2001, in Manipur.
The ceremony, attended by military personnel and dignitaries, aims to commemorate the indomitable spirit of Rifleman Rakesh Singh, acknowledging his sacrifice in the line of duty. This poignant event reinforces the nation’s gratitude for the valour and dedication displayed by our armed forces.
