Assam Rifles in collaboration with Mao Baptist Churches Association (MBCA) inaugurated and dedicated a new chapel at Mao post for troops as part of pre-Christmas celebrations at Mao, Senapati district, Manipur on 12th December.
The event was attended by Commandant of Maram Battalion, Reverend Pfokrelo, Executive Secretary, Mao Baptist Churches Association, Mr. Adani, President Mao Baptist Churches Association (MBCA), President Mao Woman Union, Village Elders, Chairman, Secretary, CSOs, Ex-servicemen and the villagers of Mao region.
The event commenced with dedication and inauguration of the new Chapel by Reverend Pfokrelo followed by prayer song by the troops. The event continued with a short speech by Mr. Niloni, Mission Secretary, MBCA followed by a speech and vote of thanks by Commandant, Maram Battalion and
interaction with the church officials and village authorities about the role of Assam Rifles along with Church organizations to maintain peace & harmony. People were also apprised of various initiatives being undertaken by Assam Rifles for the welfare of the locals especially youth.
The event progressed with closing prayer by Mr. Robert, Finance Secretary, MBCA and a sumptuous bada kahana to celebrate the event.
The church officials and villagers lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles and expressed their profound gratitude for this initiative.
